Andrei Tarkovskii (1932-1986) was a film director who became very popular after his film “Andrei Rublev”. This book is the first study of the artistic philosophy of the world renowned film director. Tarkovskii’s films are placed in the context of Russian and European philosophy of the twentieth century. Igor Evlampiev (b. 1956) is also the author of The Divine and Human in Ivan Il’in’s Philosophy (1998); History of Russian Metaphysics in the 19th-20th Centuries (2000).
