A Companion to James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses

This companion volume to James Joyce’s “Ulysses” offers students an avenue into the novel and at the same time introduces them to five important contemporary critical deconstruction by Jacques Derrida; reader response criticism by Wolfgang User; feminist and gender criticism by Vicki Mahaffey; psychoanalytic criticism by Kimberly J. Devlin; and Marxist criticism by Patrick McGee. Each critical essay is accompanied by an introduction to the history, principles and practice of the critical perspective and by a bibliography that promotes further exploration of that approach.
