Riddles and rhymes lead readers from page to page, challenging children’s perceptions as well as their imaginations. Some spreads involve spotting differences; others ask viewers to find identical matches. The most captivating pages ask readers to find feline shapes amid landscapes or hidden among the branches of a bare tree. While the longer rhymes occasionally seem forced, some of the individual lines are quite lyrical and enhance the enigmatic, jewel-toned illustrations.
