No wonder beading is so popular! It’s easy to learn and creating beautiful, personalized accessories is a very satisfying experience. Our newest author, Nola May, believes that beaded earrings frame a face like a picture and highlight the personality within without saying a word. Eagle’s View is delighted to present Nola’s collection of Comanche Weave (or Brick Stitch) and Lace earring designs, whose color combinations are inspired by mother nature herself. Here are the pinks, purples and blues of sweet peas; the yellows, golds, creams, rusts, and burgundy tones of chrysanthemums; and the reds, oranges and golds of maple trees in fall. Aimed at beginning and intermediate beaders, this 96 page book has 52 new and exciting beaded earring designs and eight color plates, which are sure to stimulate the creativity of advanced beaders as well. As in all Eagle’s View books, Classic Earring Designs contains complete, easy-to-follow instructions and plenty of illustrations. The book begins with a listing and brief explanation of the materials needed for beading, followed by a section of general instructions useful for making any beaded earring design. This is followed by basic instructions for Comanche Weave Earrings with illustrations and four bead-by-bead patterns for basic Comanche Weave designs. Directions and line drawings for creating several Variations on the basic Comanche Weave follow. These include Bugle Bead Tops (with six patterns), Bugle and Seed Bead Combinations (with 19 patterns), Seed Bead Base Rows (with ten patterns), Tube Earrings (with three patterns), Stars (with three patterns) and Diamonds (with four patterns). The last section contains illustrated instructions for making Round and Rectangular Lace Earrings with three pattern designs. All of the sections feature wonderful new designs and color combinations as well as the use of many different accent beads in the fringe. 41 of the designs are pictured, 35 of them in full color. This book provides a great way to learn the craft of beading and the wealth of designs make it one that every crafter will want to own and use over and over again. 200 illustrations; 167 photographs; 4 pages in full color.
