This abbreviated version of El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de La Mancha, which the reader can read without loosing the thread of the plot, has two to familiarize the readers the complete work of Cervantes, as well as the magnificent English translation by John Ormsby. An updating has been carried out with didactic purposes of certain lexical forms and expressions in both the Spanish and English texts which made comprehension of the text difficult or could lead the reader to error, but, at the same time, maintaining the rich classicism of the original text.
