Roboticist Derec Avery heads to Kopernik, a space station orbiting the Earth, when a robot becomes the lead suspect in a human murder, while former Auroran ambassador Ariel Burgess travels to the Nova Levis colony to investigate the disappearance of several citizens, but as Derec searches for the killer, he learns that Ariel is walking into the center of a web of intrigues.
