Hope and Hubris

America, 1926…where a man could become a millionaire almost overnight! Where the streets were paved with gold! Hundreds of thousands of immigrants arrived with dreams of making a fortune. Some of them had a lot to offer their new home. Some had a lot to hide. This is the story of two of these immigrants from vastly different backgrounds who met on the ship taking them to their respective destinies. One of them would prosper in the New World, but the other would discover that the Land of Plenty had a dark side to it, the opposite of what the image of America was to the “Huddled Masses” on the other side of the Atlantic.
