Music in Silence

Bivins extends the modernist tradition through the Beats to the present. These poems scan an era that encompasses the psycho-derelict streets of San Francisco in the 1960s/70s through the reclusive Reagan-Bush years. Through a series of poems constructed of Zen-like spare lines and economical use of page-space, Bivins’ poems offer personal and apocalyptic visions of America’s century gone berserk.
