Story Behind the Book
After Josh gave a message on lust entitled ” Destroy It or Be Destroyed” (which was originally prepared for an all-male audience), he was surprised by the widespread request from women to be allowed to listen to a tape of the message. They heard the guys talking about the message and wanted it for themselves. And not because they wanted to “understand men,” but because they too struggled with lust. “Ladies deal with this, too,” they told him. “We often feel like something is wrong with us and so we never bring it out in the open, which only makes it worse.”
So after much prayer and counsel, he decided to make his book for both sexes. Though Not Even a Hint is written for men and women, he strongly believe’s that the topic of lust is not appropriate for men and women to discuss. Women should find other women they can work together with to fight the sin of lust, which is why we’ve created separate study guides for men and women to take you further on the journey to holiness.
