For a good portion of her life Kirstin was surrounded by close family members battling cancer including her aunt and own mother. When she was diagnosed herself at age 39, and again at 42, it seemed obvious that it was simply “her turn”. Not to her though. Deep down she knew she had to break this cycle of fatal disease that seemed to hold the female members of her family hostage.
