Sarah Bishop

Sarah Bishop has good reason to be afraid. Her father is tarred and feathered. Her brother is captured by the enemy and starves to death on a prison ship. And Sarah herself flees the British and travels into the wilderness.

With a musket for protection, Sarah defends herself against wild animals, hostile townspeople along her way, and her own fear. Finally, through the friendship of a young man–and her own strength–Sarah is able to pick up the pieces of her exploded world.
