Based on a true story set in 1861, this tale tells of a determined woman who broke the rules to gain her independence and, in the process, ended up becoming caretaker of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home during the Civil War where, through her diplomacy and skill, she was able to protect it from damage and destruction as the war raged on around her.
