The Forsyte Saga, written by English novelist and playwright John Galsworthy, who earned the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1932, is a collection of three novels and two interludes that was first published in 1922. The main characters of the book are prominent figures in a large, commercial upper-middle-class English family, much like Galsworthy’s own. It illustrates how love and money may ignite. A Modern Comedy, which was written between the years of 1924 and 1928, is the second trilogy in the Forsyte Saga. This consists of the novels The White Monkey, an interlude called A Silent Wooing, The Silver Spoon, another interlude called Passers By, and Swan Song, the third novel.
