The Highwayman

Lord Wentworth has brought his daughter, Elizabeth, to Ireland to show her the country estate that will be her dowry upon marriage to a young Lord Neville. With the wedding only two weeks away, Lady Elizabeth has much to plan and even more to expect. But when a highwayman known as “Gentleman Niall” attacks the two travelers, she is shaken—not only by the robbery, but also by the epiphany she reaches en route: that the local villagers’ persecutors are her very own kin, the Anglo-Irish. Now, she must decide where her loyalty lies: with everything she’s known or with the good townspeople and their Robin Hood-like Highwayman.
